Established 2015 – A Project of the Community Foundation of Washington County

Founded by Rebecca Goodman in 2015, the Police & Citizen’s Fund was created to strengthen the bond between the Greenville Police Department (GPD) and the citizens it serves. Rebecca recognized a need—beyond traditional funding—for resources and equipment that would enhance the department’s capabilities and morale, while fostering trust and collaboration within the community.

Driven by her passion for community improvement and a deep belief in the power of partnership, Rebecca’s mission is simple:
Always Be Improving.
She works tirelessly to unite individuals, businesses, and organizations who share a common goal—creating a safer, stronger, and more connected Greenville.

Past Fundraising Successes

Thanks to the generous support of donors and community partners, the Fund has already provided the GPD with essential equipment beyond its standard budget, including:

These tools have directly contributed to officer preparedness and community safety.

Current Fundraising Initiative:

Non-Lethal PepperBall Launchers

This year, the Fund is raising money for PepperBall Launchers—a non-lethal option designed to help officers safely de-escalate dangerous situations. These versatile tools offer effective, life-saving alternatives to force, and are ideal for use in:

By equipping the GPD with PepperBall technology, we are investing in smarter, safer solutions for everyone in Greenville.
