HAVE YOU JOINED THE FIGHT TO SAVE OUR E.E. BASS CULTURAL ARTS CENTER?
The Community Foundation of Washington County is pleased to announce our support of the “Save the Building Campaign” for the E.E. Bass Cultural Arts Center with a donation of $12,500 toward an enormously important effort by the Greenville Arts Council/E.E. Bass Educational and Development Foundation! The Greenville Arts Council/E.E. Bass Educational and Development Foundation, through a preservation grant from the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, has the opportunity to match, dollar for dollar, each donation received by September 30, 2020 to the “Save the Building Campaign!” This match will magnify local and regional contributions, allowing for an even greater impact on this beautiful building!
The E.E. Bass Cultural Arts Center serves as one of the entry points for our Downtown community and is home to many wonderful arts and cultural events as well as personal celebrations that serve our entire community. This proud old building functions as a space where our entire community comes together to celebrate our rich heritage. Along with the management and facilitation of restricted funds and projects under our umbrella, the Community Foundation of Washington County develops, implements and supports targeted programming and projects under the three key pillars of Early Childhood Education, Workforce Development and Downtown Revitalization. This effort is indeed a strong fit under our Downtown Revitalization pillar.
Our Board of Trustees is excited about this opportunity for the Foundation to step up and show our support for this vital project and to hopefully serve as encouragement for other donors to join in this effort to “Save the Building!” We are pleased to be able to capitalize on this opportunity for our Foundation to be flexible and respond, when needed, to the most vital and pressing issues facing our community!
